Description: The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California Davis invites applications for a tenured position in Mechanical Engineering at the Associate or Full Professor level in the area of System Dynamics and Control. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field, with a background and interest in the general areas of modeling, analysis, simulation and control of physical engineering systems. Most importantly, the candidate must have a demonstrated expertise in automotive vehicle dynamics and control as it is anticipated that the candidate will assume the directorship of the Hyundai Center of Excellence in Vehicle Dynamic Systems and Control. The candidate should also have interests in a broad spectrum of application areas of automatic control including but not limited to manufacturing, acoustics and noise control, and robotic systems. The candidate will be expected to conduct academic research as well as interface with industrial partners, and to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering.
